A defending player (Team A) challenges an attacking player (Team B) and deliberately kicks the ball (no foul is committed). After that, the ball goes directly to another Team B player who is in an offside position. What is the correct decision?
The referee allows play to continue. There is no offside offence if a player in an offside position receives the ball from an opponent who deliberately plays the ball.

An attacking player (Team A) in an offside position receives the ball from a defending player (Team B) who made a clear movement towards the ball and tried to intercept a pass that could lead to a clear goal-scoring opportunity. Is the defender’s action considered a ‘deliberate save’ for offside?
No, because a ‘save’ is only when a player stops, or attempts to stop, a ball which is going into or very close to the goal. The referee allows play to continue as the attacking player (Team A) is not considered to have gained an advantage as the defender (Team B) deliberately played the ball.

An attacking player in an offside position (Team A) runs towards the ball but does not play the ball or prevent the opponent (Team B) from playing or being able to play the ball. What is the referee’s decision?
It is not an offside offence so the referee allows play to continue. The attacking player is only penalised if he/she plays the ball or interferes with an opponent.

Ik apprecieer dat er ander volk op de proppen komt met regels (of hier in mijn ogen willekeurige Q&A die niet van toepassing zijn) maar dit moet beter.

De uitleg + videoclip #11 en #12. Het contact tussen de Franse speler en de Tunesiër die de bal beroert, vind ik ook zeker het vermelden waard. Hoe 'deliberate' kan het zijn als ge geduwd wordt?

Houdt het steek? Tuurlijk niet, want Lukaku zijn goal tegen de Russen onder videoclip #4 staat aangeduid als not deliberate, en we weten allemaal hoe dat ging! Moraal van het verhaal: dit is een probleemregel.

Hij staat tussen 2 verdedigers te bengelen als hij de bal krijgt, volgens mij een no brainer...

Dat zijn geen willekeurige Q&A, die komen van de Rule 11 en die geven verdere uitleg aan mijn initiele statement (Griezmann die niet offside staat wegens niet deelnemen aan spel en verdediger die bal doelbewust doorkopt dus deliberate play activeert)
We zijn dus aan het discussieren wat Deliberate Play is, maar ge geeft als voorbeeld clip 11 en 12 waarbij de speler de bal wil wegkoppen maar door verkeerde inschatting de bal niet weg kopt maar door kopt en daardoor een doelkans creeert.
Dat is een totaal andere situatie als in deze wedstrijd waarbij de verdediger de bal niet per ongeluk doorkopt, hier kopt de verdediger de bal doelbewust weg. Ofte deliberate.
Zoals het artikel dat je aangeeft zelf stelt:
‘Deliberate play’ is when a player has control of the ball with the possibility of:

• passing the ball to a team-mate; or
• gaining possession of the ball; or
• clearing the ball (e.g. by kicking or heading it).

Dit is gewoon een geval waarbij de speler een luchtduel wint en de bal wegkopt aka "cleared".

Het geval van Lukaku is een voorbeeld wat onder de huidige regels afgekeurd zou worden, als ik het goed begrijp.
