Net voor het eerst gehoord, klinkt weer zeer goed!Waar is de liefde voor de nieuwe van Nick Cave en Warren Ellis?
De eerste nummers leken wat krachtiger en opvallender na de lossere en minimalistische muziek op z’n laatste platen, maar gaandeweg lijken de meeste andere nummers toch weer terug op de vorige platen voort te borduren. Logisch ook, met dat de samenwerking met Warren Ellis hier nog meer naar voren wordt geschoven. Over het algemeen is de toon van de plaat precies wel wat vitaler, maar ook bij momenten wat meer sinister en dreigend. Ook tof dat z’n manier van zingen precies terug wat krachtiger is vergeleken met de soms frêle stem op Skeleton Tree en Ghosteen.

and the transmission-detritus of automated militaries takes up more bandwidth now,
so that a lot of frequencies are just pulses of rising white static,
digital codexes announcing the status of various watching and killing machines.
and the ham-radio dads talk to each other all night long.
about their dying wives and what they ate for lunch and what they'll do with their guns when antifa comes.
this record is about all of us waiting for the end.
all current forms of governance are failed.
this record is about all of us waiting for the beginning,
and is informed by the following demands=
empty the prisons
take power from the police and give it to the neighbourhoods that they terrorise.
end the forever wars and all other forms of imperialism.
tax the rich until they're impoverished.
much love to all the other lost and lovely ones,
these are death-times and our side has to win.
we'll see you on the road once the numbers fall.

Ben benieuwd! Dit zou me ook moeten aanzetten om Luciferian Towers nog eens te beluisteren, heb die plaat eigenlijk niet voldoende aandacht gegeven... Vind nochtans de twee voorgangers zeer goed. Ook Asunder Sweet & Other Distress, die precies ook wat minder populair lijkt.

Sinds gans deze COVID miserie is de tijd nog nooit zo snel gepasseerd. Heerlijk was het.
Had zelfs een kleine setup voorzien
ll screen gestreamd naar een 65" tv en mn vriendin verplicht laten meekijken.
Er komt geen deftig geluid uit mijne TV dus ik dacht ik neem de ipad en de goeie hoofdtelefoon wel
