Omdat Iran dacht ik aan het verrijken was tot ver boven de medische toepassingen.
Allez als we even terug gaan in de tijd (2024) waren daar al bezorgheden over van het internationaal atoomagentschap.

Wat natuurlijk niet wil zeggen dat Iran geen recht heeft om nucleair materiaal te maken voor medische of andere toepassingen. Enkel niet voor bommetjes.

probleem is dan wel dat zij kunnen zeggen dat het voor een beetje elentriek is, terwijl het anders wordt gebruikt:

August 2002—An Iranian opposition group revealed secret underground nuclear facilities at Natanz and Arak meant for enriching uranium and producing heavy-water, respectively. His predecessor, Obama, predicted that Trump would make the world more dangerous and give it the “losing choice between a nuclear-armed Iran or another war in the Middle East.”

Without access to the economic relief of the JCPOA, Iran eventually restarted some nuclear operations, including developing more low-enriched uranium, which can be used for nuclear power, than the agreement had allowed and restarting stalled activities—like enriching uranium beyond medical grade at the once-secret Fordow facility.

The White House in April called ongoing talks “constructive.” Although Israel’s Netanyahu had been urging an attack on Iran, Trump wanted to give diplomacy a chance. The consortium would have taken control of Iranian enrichment capabilities, meaning Iran would no longer be able to undertake a step that is critical to both nuclear power and nuclear weapons on its own territory. After Israel attacked Iran on June 13, the prospects for new negotiations over the Iranian program have exceedingly dim. The conflict now threatens to draw in the United States. Of Gabbard’s assessment that Iran had not re-authorized the nuclear weapons program it halted in the early 2000s, Trump told reporters, “I don’t care what she said. I think they were very close to having” a weapon.

Dus de reden waarom (of 1 van de redenen) dat hij de oorlog is gestart is ineens niet meer geldig.
