Wat een lijst! Waar we vroeger al blij mochten zijn met een 5tal films per jaar is dat vandaag de dag wel anders!
Verder krijgen we trouwens ook nog een hoop films voorgeschoteld die heel wat SF elementen bevatten maar dichter bij fantasy aanleunen; Underworld: Blood Wars, Wonder Woman, The Dark Tower, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, Bright, Flatliners, ...
Het is normaal niet van mijn gewoonte maar nu er zoveel rond de film te doen is ga ik toch eerst daarop wachten alvorens aan het boek te beginnen.
) Amy Adams speelt een linguïst en het is vooral vanuit dat perspectief dat de film het kijken loont. Het zijn niet zozeer de antwoorden die er toe doen maar het leren hoe je überhaupt die vragen kunt stellen. Adams doet het in Arrival weer wonderlijk goed en aangezien ze zowat 90% van alle schermtijd opslokt doet de rest er niet veel toe. Renner en Whitaker staan er en doen hun ding. Vanaf het eerste shot spoelde er al meteen een behaaglijk warm gevoel over mij maar dat kwam jammer genoeg niet van de cinematografie die op een paar shots na nooit echt hoge toppen scheert. Nee, dat gevoel werd me bezorgt door Max Richter's - On The Nature of Daylight van zijn fenomenale Blue Notebooks album.
