Oddworld: Soulstorm is not a remake in the traditional sense.

Soulstorm differs in that it builds on what we originally wanted to do 22 years ago. We had just successfully released Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee and we were asked to deliver a sequel to it within nine months. We had to chop and cut down what we wanted to do to get it done. That meant Abe’s Exoddus was a wildly different story and experience than what we initially intended in the grand dream of the overarching five-game quintology.

Soulstorm is our grand dream come true. It is a new game. It is our attempt to make the deeper and more conceptually unsettling second episode in the story of Abe that we originally intended all those years ago.

Heel eventjes, op easy wel was nog redelijk moeilijk, niet om het pad te volgen, maar om de collectibles te vinden, je wordt beschoten en met vuur enal, moeilijk zal wel echt moeilijk zijn denk ik dan

Echt super spel. Nostalgie alom natuurlijk vermits ik het origineel als klein manneke gespeeld heb (en niet ver geraakt toen omdat dit toch wel nog een uitdagende game is). Maar het steekt echt gewoon enorm goed in elkaar en het level design is van het beste dat je zal vinden. Ik ben niet voor moeilijke games of trial en error games maar als je hier sterft dan leer je ervan en dan gebeurd dat volgende keer niet meer, dus lang blijf je nooit vastzitten op hetzelfde stuk, mede door de vrijgevige checkpoints. Enigste minpunt zijn de vele bugs, maar een restart checkpoint lost dat meestal wel op.

Oddworld: Soulstorm Enhanced Edition includes dramatically improved gameplay mechanics and motion code, audio balance improvements, seven additional months of polish, improved Slig and follower AI (more intelligent and responsive), as well as all previously released updates and brand-new content.

Oddworld: Soulstorm Enhanced Edition’s new content is a separate challenge game mode accessed via the main menu once you complete the game.

Xbox players will go hands-on with Vykkers Labs, a throwback to classic Oddworld 2.5D gameplay featuring short puzzle-filled levels. Earn leaderboard prestige for speed runs or zero-death performances. For those who don’t recall, Vykkers Labs is a large airborne lab used for pharmaceutical testing on animals and run by the sadistic Vykkers.

PlayStation and Epic Games Store players will experience Toby’s Escape. Like Vykkers, it is a throwback to classic Oddworld gaming with short puzzle-filled levels to master. If you have played Soulstorm, you’ll know Toby from the train, but how did Toby escape RuptureFarms and become the train’s conductor…find out in Toby’s Escape.
