Dear community, due to the behaviour of certain bodies in the belgian community we feel we need to make a stop to it all and since statements are so popular lately, here is ours.
We have recently received compromising information concerning the attempts of the belgian 'hope' Defusekids to break the BESL and make teams leave so that the BESL would crumble.
First of all, a league makes the teams, the teams do not make the league. A league without rules has no respect and not respecting these rules makes no league.
Therefor we believed that banning Defusekids from season 1 (league and lan) was a fair and clear sign from us showing we mean business and believe that by showing we respect our own rules we protect all competing teams
from unfair behaviour.
Please note that DK was never banned because of their match vs afx, they were banned because they left the league and with very little respect.
We were wrong to think that we could continue without any problems since DK has been trying to blackmail the BESL and make things even worse. Here is a log file from a _serious_ source who wishes to remain incognito and here are 3 WAV files
recorded on the DK ventrilo.
We will repeat once again, if you leave the league you will _not_ be able to compete at the lan event. So all teams that feel that breaking rules is ok, that want to compete in a league where the 'best' clan dictates, that wants biased admins and very little organisation,...
Please leave NOW and be banned, like defusekids, for the following FOUR seasons.
The league is going to continue. And it will keep on working in making Belgium a better
place to compete. With or without certain teams is of no importance since the league WILL outlive most if not ALL belgian teams.
We do not form a block against certain teams, neither do we make things easier
for certain teams, we hope we can earn the community's respect for this and we can assure you that BESL is already having talks with other Belgian LAN events into making teambans a nationwide fact.
We do not force you to compete, we do not stop you from competing, but teams need to be protected against their own impulsive behaviour and only by having something solid that people can count on will assure teams to stay alive
and promote the professional and sportsmanlike behaviour that we are so proud of in the world we love to compete in, eSports.
