What NAT type does it say you have? If you have a router, you'll ideally want NAT 2 to work effectively.

NAT 1 refers to a direct connection to the internet, such as connecting straight to your modem.

NAT 2 refers to a correctly forwarded router between your PS3 and the modem.

NAT 3 refers to an acceptably forwarded router, but may cause problems with Peer-to-Peer connections.


If you are behind a router and have access to the internal settings on it, what you might consider doing (this is what I do - works 100% perfectly) is setting up a "DMZ port" - that DMZ literally mean De-Militarized Zone. If you look through the internal settings on the router, if it's one of the newer ones within a few years, there should be an option for DMZ. Pick a port that the router doesn't automatically assign (something in the 200s would be a reasonably safe bet, but you'd be better off crosschecking against those internal settings and seeing where it starts assigning numbers at), then go in and use Manual IP Settings on your PS3, making sure the IP Address you select using the same 4th octet (the number from 0 to 255) as the number you assign to your DMZ.

This should knock you down to NAT 2, as you're effectively telling your router to let anything that wants to connect to your PS3 to do so. It's not leaving you vulnerable to hackers explicitly, but it does bypass most security features a router has that, in turn, interfere with proper connection with a PS3, such as a firewall.

Not really sure what else to say after that. This option fixed my problems instantly. Any other issues are something beyond router and modem. "

en zalig ik juist het 1.000.000 seasonal event met die nascars op de ring gewonnen met deze settings was het peace of cake, 9 seconden voor op den 2e en reed nog ni op de limiet... level 24 nu en bena 7 miljoen credits! eerst die multimiljonair trophy pakke en dan de F1 GT kopen denk ik.
