We are working on improving the game experience (which is not necessarily the same as startup conditions) for newbies.
In the past, newbies started with 500 fans, which was more than the system would normally allow new teams to keep. So the typical newbie would during his first months in the game see his fanclub dwindle, even when he won his games. Hardly an experience that makes sense.
We have now made two changes. You start with a very small fanclub (100 fans) but this will normally grow instead of shrink during the first few months, as the fanclub formula has been made much more generous to new teams. We think this will make more sense and be more in line with how the newbie expects things to work: You start out with very little, but is rewarded as you progress. The fanclub growth formula is more generous than before for newbies.
Secondly, when the arena expansion costs go up, the startup arena of new teams will be somewhat larger than today (12.000 instead of 7.000).
