Heb je een idee waaraan dat ligt?

Nope niet echt, en ook nooit echt de moeite gedaan om te onderzoeken waarom (ik heb genoeg andere zaken te zien en te doen).
Maar er zijn een aantal grote genres (oorlog, mafia, historische epics, western, fantasy, ...) die mij gewoon niet interesseren. Dus ik zoek die films dan ook niet op natuurlijk.

Mis ik daar grote klassiekers mee? Uiteraard
Kan mij dat schelen? Niet echt
Zie ik soms toevallig toch eentje en viel het beter mee dan gedacht? Yes

De meeste 50s en oudere films zijn te lang geleden voor me. Dan is het moeilijk stemmen. De meeste klassiekers heb ik wel ooit gezien.

Verrassend genoeg ook best weer wat gezien van dat jaar: The Searchers, The Killing, The Man Who Knew Too Much, The Ten Commandments, The Wrong Man, Written On The Wind, Seven Men From Now, There's Always Tomorrow, Bob le flambeur, The Harder They Fall en Invasion Of The Body Snatchers.

Beenharde keuze tussen The Killing (misschien mijn favoriete Kubrick) en Written On The Wind. Maar die laatste is Douglas Sirk in zeer goeie doen. Bij een eerste kijkbeurt was ik weggeblazen door die film. En f*cking hell Dorothy Malone .

Weeral wat gezien van 1955. Weer heel harde keuze want Night Of The Hunter en All That Heaven Allows zijn ook mijn 2 favorieten van dat jaar. Maar het is opnieuw een topper van Douglas Sirk dus ga ik daarvoor.

Voor de rest eigenlijk ook weer 2 goeie Hitchcocks dat jaar. Verder ook nog even Violent Saturday en Summertime vermelden die er voor mij toch ook uitspringen.
