Wat is BGs favoriete film uit het jaar XXXX ?

Wel wat toppers dit jaar: Repulsion, Godrad met Alphaville en Pierrot, Planet of the Vampires, Simón Del Desierto, Die Monster Die, What's New Pussycat, The Loved One.

Maar de win gaat toch echt naar Repulsion hoor.

Geen 5/5 dit jaar dus een sterke 4,5. Thunderball is de beste Connery Bond voor mij. Goldfinger perfectioneerde de formule maar deze kopte hem binnen. En ik ben een sucker voor onderwaterscenes dat helpt ook
 
Voor mij geen 10/10 dit jaar, wel veel 8 en één 9:

Dr. Zhivago, the War Lord, Shenandoah, Alphaville, How to Murder your Wife

maar uiteindelijk is het Leone die me overtuigt

Geen absolute uitschieters maar met zoveel lekkers toch echt wel weer een heel goed jaar. 👌
En de helft van wat hier al opgesomd werd heb ik dan nog niet eens gezien. Film was vroeger echt beter. 🥲

Wel maar 45 minuten maar duurt net lang genoeg om niet als kort-film te tellen dus kga er toch voor gaan.

Het begint voor mij toch ook wel moeilijker te worden om telkens een favoriet te vinden. Ik denk dat ik gemiddeld 10 films gezien heb per jaar van de sixties, van de fifties zal dat nog minder worden. Dankzij Mubi heb ik daar nog wat aanbod van en op Amazon komen ook af en toe wat oude klassiekers maar eerlijkheidshalve moet ik zeggen dat het bekijken van oudere films sterk achteruit gegaan is sinds ik me beperk tot legale manieren. Soms huur ik nog eens een oudere film voor een paar euro maar toch ook al een paar keer teleurgesteld geweest met de kwaliteit van de stream.

Niet zo een sterk jaar precies, of ik heb in elk geval niet veel goeds gezien. Strangelove zal het wel (imo onterecht) winnen waarschijnlijk, maar voor mij is de keuze makkelijk, Bava all the way:

Fail Safe (de betere maar niet grappige Strangelove) en The Naked Kiss zijn mijn runners up. Woman in the Dunes staat al mega lang op mijn watchlist.

2 van mijn favoriete horror films met Kwaidan en Onibaba. Kwaidan absoluut prachtig gefilmd maar ik ga uiteindelijk voor de vernuftigheid en sfeerschepping van Onibaba.

@Lint had gewoon geen zin om die titel te typen. Kubrick zijn komedie is voor mij een sterke 4,5 maar what a ride. Jokes staan er nog, dialogen en acteerprestaties zijn heerlijk, … ja dit is comedy voor de eeuwigheid.
 
Best wat dingen gezien van dat jaar: A Fistful Of Dollars, Goldfinger, Dr Strangelove, Il deserto rosso, Man's Favorite Sport, A Hard Day's Night, The Killers (eerder al geweldig verfilmd door Robert Siodmak maar deze versie van Don Siegel is ook heel goed met John Cassavetes, Lee Marvin en Ronald Reagan) en Marnie (vreemd genoeg nog niet vernoemd).

Om toch maar eens een Bond-film te nomineren en omdat die gewoon goed is (en Pussy Galore :love:).

very good: Onibaba, Bande à Part, The Train, A Fistful of Dollars, Marnie, Goldfinger
good: Blood and Black Lace, The Masque of the Red Death, Mary Poppins

Pft ik kan niet kiezen. Sorry Kwaidan, net niet.
