Berlusconi calls Milan a disaster
Silvio Berlusconi appears to have distanced himself from Leonardo by saying Milan are a disaster and that he is suffering together with the fans.
Milan have endured a poor start to the season and currently lie 11th in Serie A having already been destroyed by Inter in the derby.
Sunday's stalemate at home to newly promoted Bari was a new low and piles the pressure on Leonardo going into tonight's game against Zurich.
Famous for his gaffes, Berlusconi appeared to make another one yesterday when he mistook a reporter for a Milan fan.
Asked about the state of his team, Berlusconi replied: “It's a disaster. Milan make you suffer and they make me suffer.”
On being told the fan was actually a reporter from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Berlusconi tried to dig himself out of a hole, saying: “When I said disaster I meant to say it's a difficult moment, but football is like this, it'll pass.”
Yesterday Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani told journalists Leonardo's position was 'absolutely not' up for discussion.
Berlusconi's comments certainly haven't done anything to add credibility to that argument and with Luciano Spalletti free and available following his resignation from Roma, Leonardo's place on Milan's bench appears ever more insecure.
