Enable New Boot screen in Vista
-------------------------------------
1. Click on the start orb and type in "MSCONFIG" in the textbox.
2. Once the System Configuration tool loads, click on the Boot tab.
3. Under Boot Options check 'NO GUI Boot'
4. Reboot and enjoy!

Show Run Command on Start Menu
-----------------------------------------
1. Right click on your taskbar and select Properties.
2. Click on the Start Menu Tab and then select Customize.
3. Scroll through the list and check the Run Command check box.
4. Hit OK a few times and it is back.

Resize Partitions with Vista Disk Management

1. Click on the Start Button and right click on Computer and select Manage.
2. Expand the Storage section and select Disk Management.
3. Then just right click on any partition and select either Expand or Shrink to change the size of the partition.

Enable Vista Glass on Intel GMA 950 Graphics Cards
------------------------------------------------------------
1. First, I had to open up device manager. Click on the start menu and type in devmgmt.msc and Enter to load it up.
2. Once there, expand the Display Adapters section and right click on each device and select Uninstall.
3. Reboot the computer.
4. When it restarts, it should install a generic video driver so your screen will still work.
5. Go back into Device Manager, expand the Display Adapters section again and then right click on the device and select Update Driver.
6. This time select Browse My Computer for Driver and then Let me pick it from a list.
7. Go the the Intel section and select the Intel® Lakeport Graphics Controller.
8. Hit OK and install the new driver. Restart your computer.
9. Once you have rebooted, right click on your desktop and select Personalize again.
10. Click on Windows Colors and Appearance.
11. Click on Open classic appearance properties for more color options.
12. In the Color Scheme box, select Windows Vista Aero.
13. Hit OK and glass will now load.

Enable Add-ins in Windows Live Messenger

Copy and Paste the following into a .reg file and import it.

Once you import it, restart Windows Live Messenger and under Options you will have a new list item for Add-ins.

Create a Shortcut for Flip 3D

1. Right click on your desktop and select New and then Shortcut.
2. Copy and paste RunDll32 DwmApi #105 into the location box and hit Next.
3. Enter in a name for your shortcut and hit Finish.
4. Copy/Cut and Paste your new shortcut where ever you want.

Add Additional Clocks to Taskbar

1. Right click on the clock in the taskbar and select Adjust Date/Time.
2. Click on the Additional Clocks tab.
3. Check the box for either additional clock 1 or 2 and select the time zone.
4. Type in a display name for your click and hit OK.
Now when you hover your mouse over or click on the clock you will see the additional time zone.

Disable Network Printer Search

1. Hit Alt to bring up the menubar if it is not already on the screen.
2. Click on Tools and select Folder Options.
3. On the View Tab, uncheck Automatically search for network printers.

Speed up Start Menu Search
---------------------------------
1. Open Registry Editor (regedit).
2. Navigate through HKEY_CURRENT_USER, Software, Microsoft, Windows, CurrentVersion, Explorer and finally Advanced.
3. Find and right click on Start_SearchFiles and select Modify.
4. Set the Value to 0.
5. Restart the Explorer.exe process or just reboot your computer.

Super Quick - Quick Launch Bar
---------------------------------------
If you have the quick launch bar you can press the WINDOWS + a number and it will launch that application.

For example: If you have a shortcut for a folder in the first slot you would press WINDOWS + 1 to open that folder.
A second quick launch application would be WINDOWS + 2.

Met die Vista Disk Management, kun je daar partities mee herindelen ZONDER dataverlies?
Ik heb hier namelijke 2 partities, een WinXP en een Vista partitie.
Ik wil nu de vrije ruimte van de Windows XP partitie verplaatsen naar de Vista partitie, zonder dat ik daarbij data verlies en opnieuw Vista moet beginnen installeren.

Wat doet die bootscreen precies ?

denk ik het maar of start vista met die "no gui boot" echt PAKKE sneller op?

dat partities nu geresized kunnen worden, hadk ook al gemerkt, handig

de un-needed services en tweaking tools ga ik ook is bekijken

*edit* het eerste schermke waar vanonder microsoft(r) en een groen blakske schuivend blakske staat is weg en vervangen door een achtergrond met vanonder "windows vista starten"

maar ik denk echt da hem pakke rapper opstart zo, ik was dervan verschoten

da was al zo in de betas en RC's zo, NO GUI
btw int nederlands want wie heeft er nu nen engelse vista :

msconfig --> doorgaan lol: die klotevista toch) )--> computer opstarten --> zonder gebruikersinterface opstarten

Wie kan er nu geen Engels na Nederlands omzetten ..

ik, uit principe kword gek van NL OS en Software, heeft me ooit een half uur gekost om over de telefoon te weten te komen van een persoon die ik aant helpen was dat "tools -> options" in NL "extra -> opties" heet

uiteindelijk zo geraakt door te zeggen "het 2de van rechts" maar omfg eh zeg....

Mo ik denk wel dat ge na een tijdje er mee vertrouwd zijt ze,
ik weet nu al veel dingen zitten en alsk iemand moe helpen screens alst nie lukt

weet nie of deze al verteld is ergens bij office outlook 2007 tweaks:

Outlook niet meer op taakbalk geminimaliseerd maar enkel in systemtray, zeer handig om uw taakbalk wat vrij te houden :

in regedit een dword-waarde MinToTray met waarde 1 aanmaken onder Current user, software, microsoft, Office, 12.0, Outlook, Preferences

(heb deze afgekeken van office 2003, werkt perfect )

euhm ge kunt ook gewoon rechtsklikken opt icoontje in de systeemtray en "Verbergen indien geminimaliseerd" kiezen

true maar veel tweaks zijn omslachtig vr iets simpels gewoon omdat ze het mechanisme aantonen, daarom zijn et juust speciallekes
