One of the organizations hit hard was the Beggars Group, which includes Matador, XL, Rough Trade, 4AD, True Panther, Young Turks, and Too Pure. Pitchfork spoke with Beggars chairman Martin Mills earlier today, who stated that the label had lost their entire UK stock-- 750,000 copies in all-- to the fire. Mills said that he estimates it'll take the label 10 days to replace the CDs and at least three months to replace their vinyl stock, and that Beggars expects to recoup manufacturing costs through insurance (other labels' stock could very well be covered as well, since PIAS has insurance too).
