Well I did it. I successfully flashed my NVIDIA GeForce 5200, to a NVIDIA GeForce 5200 Ultra! The core is running at 350MHz and the Memory is running at 600MHz! Of course I put ram sinks and a custom HSF on the card!
I almost double my score! My score in 3DMark01 is 10211 at normal settings. This is with the ForceWare 56.72, a fresh reinstall of Windows XP Pro SP1. I think that fresh install of XP Pro helped a lot!
I got a copy of NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 Ultra Bios from the internet! I used NVIDIA BIOS Editor(X-BIOS Editor) to set the bios for my card. I got all the information I needed to enter from Riva Tuner (Vender ID, Device ID). Then I saved those settings and saved the bios to a floppy disk. Then I download NVFlash 4.46 and copied that program to the floppy containing the bios. I followed the on-screen instructions to successfully flash my bios!
I flashed my card, then I reformatted my computer so I wouldn't have any problems with driver conflict and stuff, and plus I needed it. Then I loaded the new ForceWare 56.72 drivers on. It detected it as a NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 Ultra. I looped 3DMark01 for 1 hour without a problem. Then I ran a few games with out a problem.
Here are links to the files I used!
Nvida GeForce FX 5200 Ultra BIOS
NVFlash 4.46
X-BIOS Editor
Hope this helps, and good luck!
