The impressions
If anyone still believes that CRT's rule over LCD's are very very wrong....I had a good 21" CRT, and this thing just blew me away....to put it in other words..this thing got me more exited then my 6800GT (yeah you read that right)
I have never seen such a crisp fluid display, and I saw alot of CRT's and LCD over time.
The display is incredible, it sounds weird but the 8ms are no BS, this thing responded (how weird that sounds) better then my CRT by far, I have never experienced such fast gameplay (in terms of response)
NFSU:2 was incredible.........and then, then came HL2.....my Jaw almost literally dropped to the floor...I know you can't say that a monitor has life like colors etc....but this one is the closest thing that you can get.
The dark colors of the canals just were completely in place....I saw things that I never saw before (this is my third time playing the game)
Nothing was overbright or overdark, just perfect, nVidia said something like: "The way it's ment to be played", well this certainly apply's to this thing, why buy a $500 videocard to play on a crappy monitor?
The Package, and setting up
The box that it came in was a sturdy box. It had a DVI cable and a normal VGA cable in it, along with a powercable. The monitor was wrapped in soft foam. So overall the package was of good quality.
The maual was very clear, but only showed info that I already knew (obviously)
The adjusting menu is very easy to use, but you really don't have to fiddle with the controls.
Right out of the box this thing was configured, I didn't even have to press the special i-button, it just configured itself somehow.
At the back of the monitor stand, there were two clips for the two cables, so when you use it you don't see cables at all, very nifty.
Dead pixels?
No dead pixels to be seen, I was a little bit scared because this is the 8ms version, so I didn't know if they perfected their manufacturing process...but obviously they did (at least for my LCD)
Conclusion
Damn why did I wait so long to buy a good LCD?
If you are thinking about upgrading to a LCD, this is the best thing....it costs 430 Euro, way cheaper then the 20 inch monitors...but you really don't see the difference, in fact it was as big as my 21" CRT
