Community Update - 2/11/05
Battlefield 2 Community Information Page Lives
In our first official Battlefield 2 Community Update we highlighted a Battlefield 2 IRC channel managed and populated by our passionate community. This week we are featuring the community Battlefield 2 Information Wiki (available already in three languages): http://www.bf2wiki.info/. On this site, several of our community's leaders have begun to collect massive amounts of information about Battlefield 2 that have been released in various venues (such as community and magazine interviews, promotional videos, screenshots, etc...). A "great job, guys" goes out to the team that has pored through all of this information and put it together in such an organized fashion (Fizban30, Stealth97, king0rism and seletitic). Anyone interested in Battlefield 2 should give this site a visit.
Community Members Release BFV Machinima
LRRP members Little_Donkey and Strupie, in combination with their own clan and Clan Psyko, created a 15 minute tour-de-force machinima (for those who aren't familiar with the term "machinima", one usage of this term means "a movie created using a 3d game engine in real time", in this case, the Battlefield Vietnam engine) which released earlier this week. Needless to say the great skill and dedication that these folks poured into their creation is blindingly obvious in watching the action unfold. We here at EA and DICE wanted to publicly recognize the achievement of this team in creating such a stunning piece of filmmaking and also to make sure that it gets as wide an audience as it deserves.
