They’re hanging themselves with their own rope, and millions upon millions who have shelled out for $15 DLC map packs or thrown $5 at Gamestop for a specific gun or costume have told these companies that this sort of pricing is the way to go, and now they’re going to keep pressing the limits of the model, probably until it breaks. It’s like they’ve figured out how much people love games, and even if they SAY that a $60 price point is too high, that in reality if you turn up the pain dial to $75, $90 or even $100 with DLC, most will shell that out to make sure they have the “full” experience of the title.
