Ik heb totnutoe enkel in windowed mode gespeeld. Maar aangezien ik zo bijna dood ervaringen meemaak doordat ik buiten het venster klik, ben ik terug full screen gegaan.
Hier kreeg ik problemen (Windows7 64 bit) en ik heb oplossingen gevonden. Ik zet ze hier neer, dan heeft iemand er mss iets aan.
Direct3D fullscreen: Het beeld hapert, toch 60fps. Maar zeer choppy gameplay.
DirectDraw fullscreen: werkte eerst niet, na compatibility settings (Disable Desktop Composition) werkte het wel, maar dan kreeg ik vreemde kleuren in diablo2. (een soort LSD trip)
Ik heb oplossingen gevonden:
DirectDraw: Open het "Screen resolution" scherm van windows 7 en laat dat open staan voor ge Diablo2 opstart. Heel vreemd, maar daardoor zijn de kleuren zoals het moet.
Direct3D: Niet op te lossen.
"A little known fact is the game will almost always run choppy even on the best hardware if you use Direct 3D, an issue they've never fixed. Direct Draw fixes the issue."
Toen ging ik kijken naar een glide wrapper

Download die, extract die files in de diablo2 map. Run Video Test en kies glide. Zo werkt Diablo2 zoals het moet, en hebt ge mooie kleureffecten (beter als direct3D)
Ik raad aan "Disable Desktop Composition" bij compatibility settings sowieso op te zetten ongeacht welke mode.

The game "Diablo 2" (so "Lord of Destruction" , too) is known for the fact, that it runs far better with GLIDE than with Direct3D. The actual problem is, that meanwhile the company "3DFX" has been taken over by "NVIDIA" and so there's no manufacturer any more who produces graphiccards that support GLIDE naturally.
At this point a GLIDE-wrapper gives support:
It makes the GLIDE-interface available, by receiving the GLIDE-commands and translating them to another interface. So it is possible to use GLIDE-enhenced programs even on graphic-cards, which normally do not support this interface.
I want to mention again, that I have written this wrapper explicitly for the game "Diablo 2". I assume that it won't work together with other programs.
Moest 1/3 games leaven omdat er te veel light immumes achter m'n gat lopen. :')
