B17 Flying Fortress Historical Campaign Nov 1942 - Aug 1943
Take the controls of B17F serial number 41-24577 code VKD 'HELL'S ANGELS' - of the 358th Bomb squadron, 303rd Bomb Group, the first B17 to complete 25 combat missions over Europe!
The 303rd Bombardment Group was an Elite unit in the US 8th Airforce, one of it's B17s - HELL'S ANGELS, was the first to complete 25 combat missions over Europe, and another - KNOCKOUT DROPPER was the first to complete 50, and then 75 missions. It was the first Group to fly 300 missions from England, and went on to fly more missions than any other B17 Group in the 'Mighty Eighth'.
You will fly from Nov 1942 and the 303rd's very first mission, until Aug 1943 and infamous 'Double Strike' Schweinfurt/Regensburg mission.
Dozens of olive drab B17s fighting through enemy fighters and flak to hit precision targets in Germany must be one of the most iconic images of WW2 and I hope this campaign will appeal to many types of flyer, the player has the choice of trying to fly in tight combat box formation, mastering bomb aiming skills, or hitting the autopliot button and manning the 50cal gunner positions to fend off waves of German fighters! Will you be able to nurse your damaged 'Fort' back home to dear old 'Blighty' where fog, cloud and rain are as much your enemy as the Germans. Can you complete 25 missions and get a hero's ticket back home to Mom's apple pie?!

Including almost every B17F that flew with the 303rd in this period, and over 100 skins in total !
