I don't know what you have been doing at IW, but it certainly isn't making a good lobby- party system.
The lobby system is just total garbage, like a bunch of morons have put it together. And i'm not overacting here. I think it finaly can be said; You failed just miserably. It took a long time for me to finaly come up with this at the forum, but i can't take it any longer.
That lobby system just aggrivates EVERYBODY i know. Gameforums i'm on are flooded with these comments what i'm about to tell. So dont go telling me that it is "my bad internet connection" because you will be the second biggest moron i've ever have to witness.
SO, what is the problem here? Where should i begin is a better question...
I've played COD4 a lot, the lobby-party system had his flaws, but let me tell you, the problems we faced with the lobby's of COD4 don't come even close to the disturbing and utter nervewrecking problems i have with the lobby system of MW2.
First of all, the time it takes to find players. We sometimes honestly do think that nobody is playing MW2, because it takes THAT long to find some players. It takes so long that people start to leave the lobby because of it. Let me tell you, this is no exception, because if it was i wouldn't make such a drama out of it. It is CONSTANTLY like that. CONSTANLY people leaving lobby's because it takes so goddamn long to find a stupid player.
You finaly find a lobby, you play a match. Match is finished. It is like PRAYING that your lobby will not close because magicly 3/4th of the players "leave" the lobby. I don't even think all these players actually leave. I think the merging system is so fucking bugged that it pulls people out of the lobby to another one. I mean, i've NEVER seen such things before. It is such stupid and weird behaviour that i CANT be that people are leaving by themselfs. Same weird behaviour when people join the lobby, all of them wait to begin the match, and in the "intermission" (where the match starts within 10sec), half of your lobby just leaves. LOL Don't come telling me it's people that voted to skip the map, because there are times people don't vote at all, and it's still like that. Same story when you finally get like 10 people in your lobby, and that stupid thing keeps saying "Need to find 2 more players" What a bigass bug if you ask me since other times you start with 8 people. It's like: FIND THAT PLAYER ALLREADY FFS!!!
Searching for games is the same as searching for players. The only difference between them is that the search for a game is faster! But seriously. Don't expect to jump comfortable between lobby's because you will be glad you finally found one WITH a host, WITH enough players and WITH balanced teams.
Balanced teams... Djeezes... That's another of those shamefull design flaws or whatever you wanne call it.
How many matches that are unbalanced, just INSANE! You come in a lobby, no balanced teams, you start with in mindh ye, np people will join --> RIGHT! Just forget it, 7 times out of 10 NOBODY joins the match. Brings me back to thinking that nobody plays the game, or just a bunch of morons putted that system together. I mean like, somethimes i honestly do think there are some new set number of players to be in a match. 4vs4, 5vs5, 4vs3,6vs2,... YOU NAME IT! DAILY i tell you, DAILY i experience this shit.
Joining a match with your party, oh boy, that could be a pain in the ass with COD4, but believe me: it isn't any better in MW2. I had less problems in COD4 as i have now in MW2. Invite system k, it works prety well, can't complain much about that, but joing matches with your party... OMFG!
The above brings me to the subject: "Merging party's"
This looked at first like a real hit, but playing some hours it brings more frustration then joy.
The merging party's is especially a killer for your own party. Getting pulled to another lobby, not having your full party with you. Just unbelievable. The system merges you with another lobby, where for example only 6 people can join. You get merged with the other lobby, but you only have 3 of your own party with you. This goes in waves or how do i have to pronounce it. Somethimes it works good, but many times where you have to remake your party several times to finally get all in. You get merged in an allready running match, you start playing and you IMMIDIATLY have to check you have all of your guys with you. And let me tell you, if you get pulled in an running match, 95% you don't have your guys with you. Many times you are the only one. lol
We all get in a lobby with a particular map. We allready start asking ourselfs 'hmmm, how many times will the map change this time? 2 times? 3 times? It is just annoying as ***. Voting for a map to skip has become useless from time to time because there are times those votes just dissapear without any merge in action. Not very common but i've seen it happen more then once.
Today i played the same map 3 times in a row, without any merging of lobby's. Sometimes you just play the same map twice in a row, without any merging of lobby. Not very common again but still, it just shows that there are some serious errors in the programming,.. WHATEVER!
Nah really, i'm not trying to be all negative. Don't start yelling at me i suck and have to bash on IW. I don't suck at all in the game and i played it more then a day in playtime hours. I expected a great game, and gamewise it is very good, grats, but you defenitly neglected the lobby-party system. It's just total garbage. I hear many people yell the same problems on forums i'm on, so *** you very much if you wanne try blaim it all on me with your stupid "bad internet connection or frustrated-noob-in-the-game-shit"
I'm talking here about PS3. I don't own a XBOX and i've yet to check if these problems are the same on Xbox360. 4 Patches in the first week after the release says more about IW then anything else.
ANYWAY, long talk here. I'm sure i still forget some things, but i think you get the point. The lobby system is total garbage and i would be ashamed for that. Believe me, shame should be there, because it is on the verge of being unacceptable.
