Het was al nu en voelt alsof nu het echte verhaal begint.
Was tot nu toe duidelijk dat die Rust verdachten van iets, maar lijkt mij nu dat hij effectief onschuldig is en er een zeer grote plot achter zit waarin Rust de "True Detective" is die het aan het onderzoeken is.
Vraag mij af of hij nu echt aan de alcohol zit of dat het een spel is dat hij speelt om aandacht van die "big people behind the scenes" van zich af te houden.
Vraag mij af of Marty nog meedoet in het onderzoek dat Rust doet, of niet. Wie weet werkt hij nog samen met Rust en hebben die wel nog contact met elkaar. Hmm

In 2012, Rust is working this case. He has a storage unit full of clippings and evidence, not a body of Ginger. He is convinced, after seeing the "made in error" reports, that the police are complicit, and he's thus been working the case without their help.
Now, at the beginning of the 2012 interview, he's cautiously optimistic that they might be able to get somewhere with the case; however, as the interview progresses, it becomes apparent that these detectives are simply "company men"; they either are too stupid to realize that there is a much larger conspiracy going on, or they might be complicit as well. So Rust doesn't trust them and won't share any real information with them.
This becomes readily apparent when they show him the crime scene photos and ask what he was doing there. His response is "how did you keep her out of the papers; you got friends in high places?" The older detective looks surprised at this, and just stares back at Rust while the younger detective chimes in and starts accusing him of involvement. At this point, Rust gets up and says "you're just company men." He's not going to help them because in his mind they're too stupid to realize what's going on, and that makes Rust suspicious that they too are complicit on some level.
I mean... this was beaten over our heads this episode, and there are still people on here thinking Cohle might have killed someone? Pay attention to what you're watching.

Idd interessant, ook op zich als meta-verhaal in literatuur en dan als metafysisch concept in onze realiteit.

Ik mis denk ik wel iets, ofwel heb ik niet goed opgelet: waar is Ginger nu? Zit die in de cel?
Weet niet goed wat ik van het verhaal moet denken. Complotten allemaal goed en wel, daar zijn echter grenzen aan. Moorden op dat niveau, met die mystiek errond, welke ambtenaar wil daar iets mee te maken hebben, laat staan het helpen afdekken...
Geloof wel dat hij al jaren bezig is met zijn eigen onderzoek.

Rust zal wel degene zijn die Tuttle vermoord heeft in 2010 zeker? Sowieso dat hij een van die "big people" was die betrokken was, hij had toch een foundation die die verlaten school financierde he? Ik denk ook dat er niks waar is van die falling out tussen Rust en Marty en dat ze heel die tijd in het geheim hebben voortgewerkt aan de zaak aangezien ze niemand kunnen vertrouwen. En dan is er nog die louche kerel die het gras aan die verlaten school aan het maaien was.
