Hey,
I just come back from the cash game in Namur, it was the first day where the tables opened and since I live there I kinda had to go =)
I arrived there around 8PM, the tables were opening at 7PM so I of course didn't expect to get a seat directly. There was only 1 table of NL 2-2 running and there was a waiting list of 5 players for it, an interest list for 5-10 and 1 for 10-20. I immediately sign up for 1-2 and J-C Choffray tells me that they wont open another 1-2 table but that there will be a 5-10 soon and that I should register to that one instead. I say thanks but no thanks.
After 20 mins, the NL 2-2 list keeps growing so they eventually decide to open another table after all. I sit there along with Daniel Dodet. I never had the chance to meet him before but he's real nice and kinda funny.
Either way the game starts and it's immediately a "family pot fest". Noone raises, everyone limps PF and either way when someone decides to raise at least half the table calls.
After 20 mins I'm down 40 euros from blinds and when I raised with AQ on the button, got 2 or 3 callers OOP. Flop comes rags, we all check, turn is A, guy in UTG+1 or smthin makes it 10, I just call, river pairs the board (but not the A), he fires 10 again, I call and he flips AK.
A bit later some shortie on my right makes it 12, I look down at KK and reraise to 36. The BB cold calls, the original raiser thinks and thinks and decides to fold. He then said to Daniel half loud that he had QQ. So the flop comes KT2 with 2 spades. BB fires 20, I decide to just call because I liked my hand and didnt see the flush draw immediately, lol.
Turn is a blank, he bets 20 again and I only have 106 in front of me and I just make it 50. He reraises all-in and I insta-call. He shows AK and I rake a decent one.
A few hands later I limp with 64s in another family pot. Flop comes 532, bingo. The shortie to my right makes it 2 (oh ye they also love to min-bet no matter what the size of the pot is and the number of players in the hand). I make it 12 and the young guy to my left makes it 24. All fold to me and since there's a flush draw on board I decide that I'm just gonna call and fire again if the turn isn't scary. That wasn't probably very smart since it was very unlikely he had a flush draw and that a flush card could have killed my action. Anyway the turn comes 7 'rainbow', I was still good.
I bet 40 and he quickly calls. River comes Q 'rainbow' and I bet 60.
He then goes (in french of course) quite aggressively "You have a big pair ?? Cause I have 2 pair here ! Huh, that's what u got a pair ??". He was really verbally aggressive. I wasn't reacting at all, I had slightly my sad puppy face on since I wanted a call and didn't want to have a defying look either towards such an excited person that was 1 meter away from me.
He then flips over his cards saying "cause that's really what I got, 2 pair !!".
Then the big fuss starts, people at the table say he's not allowed to do that, the young guy gets all excited saying he's seen that being done on TV and shit, that he's maybe young but he knows what he's doing etc etc. Still not a word from me. Floor comes explaining he cant do that, young guy asks wtf is that, that he's sure he's allowed. Daniel said he plays internationally and that it's not allowed anywhere, young guy claims it's bs etc etc.
Eventually he says fine, that he's sorry and that he's gonna pay me anyway...cool =)
After that not much action (read no action at all) from me, card dead, no point in bluffing or trying to steal dead money since they call with anything anyway. Daniel dropped 400 quite fast. He lost a good chunk w/ KQ vs A3 on 37QKA, being called by the same young guy on flop and turn. Daniel was giving me the "can you believe this ?" look quite often given what was happening at the table =)
He also played a questionable hand (he was kinda angry at himself for being so loose too) : limpers, he makes it 12 in the button, same young guy UTG calls, guy UTG+1 (who was his brother apparently) makes it 42, Daniel calls, back to the UTG who pushes for 200 !! (wtf is this ?) UTG+1 folds and Daniel thinks a while then says that he's seen him do this with garbage earlier and calls with A9o. Young guy had AK which held up.
Some other crazy shit I saw : flop QTT, the guy who had lost the AK vs my KK opens for 70 in a 10 pot (I shit you not), of course some woman reraised to a bit over 100, the guy called and showed Q3...you all know at least 1 card the woman was holding =)
The young guy also paid a total of 92 preflop (leaving him with 60ish behind) w/ 66 "just to see if he could hit a set". (His own words)
So, as expected, the game is quite fishy but u gotta be ready for some sick beats too.
Tomorrow I'll probably go back since Hung and Tien are most probably coming but I expect it to be even harder to get a seat on a saturday evening.
I wont be going every week given how huge the waiting list is, but I'm still glad with my result (ending at +220) and for having participated to the very first official cash game in Belgium =)
