De hype omtrent toekomstige projecten is slechts één onderdeel van The Game Awards, want om de zoveel minuten worden ook de genomineerde ontwikkelaars naar het toneel geroepen om zo, voor een globaal publiek, stapsgewijs een winnaar te bekronen.
