Archief - Internet met LAN maar niet met Wi-Fi

Ik zit met volgend probleem:

De laptop van mijn vriendin kon op een bepaald ogenblik niet meer op internet via Wi-Fi, via LAN lukt het dan weer wel.

Het probleem ligt niet bij de Wi-Fi, andere laptops werken wel perfect.
Verbinden met het netwerk lukt ook perfect, enkel het internet marcheert niet.

Die halfgare troubleshooter van W7 zegt uiteraard dat ik mijn stekkers eens moet uittrekken enzo maar ik heb ergens een error gevonden dat de default gateway offline/onbeschikbaar is.

Nu ben ik op internet gaan kijken en heb ik vele vele mensen gevonden met dezelfde error, maar niemand met hetzelfde probleem.

Wat het nog 'vreemder' maakt is dat de instellingen van de LAN en de Wi-Fi nagenoeg hetzelfde zijn, hier alvast een ipconfig:

Nu zijn er naast die 2 adapters ook een 90-tal tunnel adapters waarvoor ik nu driver kit aan het downloaden ben om deze te verwijderen, zou het misschien daar aan liggen?

Een laptop heb je natuurlijk om draadloos te kunnen gebruiken, vandaar dat ik dit liefst opgelost krijg

Ik zie dat je niet beschikt over een eigen prive netwerk, maar direct met het internet verbonden bent. Speelt dit scenario zich altijd voor of soms? Want misschien is er een onderlinge strijd tussen de laptops op een IP vast te nemen (gezien er een limiit staat op het aantal IP's / account)?

Het is van vorige week nog geleden dat die specifieke laptop nog heeft kunnen verbinden met het internet via Wi-Fi. Op die moment was er enkel nog een vaste PC aangesloten, dus een conflict lijkt me onwaarschijnlijk.

Wat is die limiet trouwens ongeveer?
Ik zal anders even opsommen hoe het 'netwerk' er hier uit ziet momenteel.

3 laptops via Wi-Fi waarvan één het probleem toont (het is wel de enige met W7, andere is een MBP en de laatste is een windows2000 bak)
2 vaste PC's via LAN

Allen verbonden met een Linksys router van telenet om dan naar de modem te gaan, uiteraard.

Het schiet me net te binnen dat het de draadloze verbinding wordt weergegeven als onbekend netwerk, zal eens een screenshotje uploaden -> screenshot
note de 'access type: internet' bij de wireless trouwens; soms zegt hij dat er geen internetverbinding is, soms wel, maar nooit werkt het werkelijk.

Mijn vriendin vertelt me ook net dat toen ik ze eergisteren (ik was niet aanwezig) de driver van de wireless adapter liet updaten het internet even werkte en daarna zag haar scherm er zo uit -> screenshot

is maar een vraag hé maar ik dacht dat je maar 4 computers op het netwerk kunt aansluiten zonder problemen en bbij fibernet xl 8 computers

Maar het gebeurt zelden dat deze allemaal tegelijk aan staan. Meestal zijn het er maximum 3, of maakt dat niet uit?

En dan nog, dan zou LAN toch ook niet mogen werken?

Je hebt geen controle over de DHCP lease time he, maar volgens de informatie dat je geeft, beschik je niet over een eigen LAN. Maar heb je een AP gekregen van Telenet ipv een router (wat niet abnormaal is).

Dat zou logisch zijn, ik heb al honderden keren geprobeerd de router te bereiken wanneer er wat problemen waren en het is me nog nooit gelukt. Ook zit het al verscholen in de naam van het toestel..telenet-apn.. makes sense :')

Wat houdt dat dan in, zo'n AP van Telenet?
Ik heb er geen ervaring mee aangezien we bij mij thuis (Het probleem doet zich voor bij mijn schoonouders) altijd al een eigen router gehad hebben.

In a nutshell:
- We werken met IP versie 4
- Te weinig IP adressen als ieder toestel, dus meerdere per persoon, simultaan Inet wil
- Telenet koopt publieke IP adres ranges en verhuurt ze aan klanten. Dus het aantal IP adressen per klant is beperkt (simultaan).

Met een Access Point:
- Krijg je per toestel een publiek IP adres. Dit gebeurt automatisch dus via DHCP en de lease time ken ik persoonlijk niet. Stel 12 uur en na 6 uur probeert het toestel die een IP gekregen heeft ze te verlengen.
-> nadeel: eens alle IP adressen toegekend zijn, en de toestellen staan niet meer aan, BLIJVEN ze gelinkt aan de MAC adres van dat toestel. Je kan dus niet meer een nieuw toestel aansluiten, tenzij de leasetime verlopen is (hoewel je de modem kan uitschakelen voor enkele uren en alles reset). Dit wordt o.a. gedaan om misbruik te voorkomen.

Met een router:
- Heb je 1 uitgangs punt, dus heb je maar 1 publiek IP nodig.
- Je beschikt over een LAN waarin je zelf ip's mag uitreiken naar wens.
- Via NAT worden alle toestellen achter de router gelinkt naar dat ene publieke IP adres.

Router > AP

Ik denk bv niet dat je een printer kan sharen als je enkel een functionele AP hebt.

Ahzo, bedankt voor de info!

Zou het dan kunnen dat het wired wel werkt omdat deze rechtstreeks verbonden is met de modem? Er zijn hier 2 aansluitingen in de muur in de living, in de ene zit de AP van telenet en de andere is rechtstreeks aangesloten aan de laptop.

En zou de oplossing dan simpelweg kunnen zijn van een router te kopen en de AP te vervangen door de router?

Nee, in beide gevallen ben je gewoon rechtstreeks verbonden met het internet.

Plaats eens een router van je eigen of een kennis om dit te testen. In deze thread is enkele een analyse gemaakt van het probleem dat jij beschreven hebt.

Blijkbaar loopt de kabel in de muur toch naar de AP van telenet. Dus de wired verbinding werkt wel omdat de ethernetadapter van de laptop een DHCP lease krijgt en de wireless uit de boot valt?

Nu de schoonmoeder heeft al gezegd dat mijn vriendin dan maar met de kabel op het internet moet gaan, maar als het probleem ligt bij de DCHP leases kan het toch zijn dat binnenkort bv. één van de vaste pc's uit de boot valt?

Die Tunnel adapters moet ik nog eens verwijderen (Driver Kit downloaden duurt uren..) maar deze zouden toch niets met mijn probleem te maken kunnen hebben?

Blijkbaar staat wireless nog aan terwijl je verbonden bent met de wired verbinding. Net als in de eerste post trouwens, dus die laptop soupeert twee IP's op?

Een mooie test zou inderdaad zijn om wireless uit te schakelen en even te werken met de kabel.

Ja klopt. Wireless staat nu uit, maar voor het probleem was de laptop nagenoeg nooit verbonden met de kabel.

Nu zie ik wel in de ipconfig dat de lease een uur geldig is, maar hier zijn sinds deze ochtend maximum 3 toestellen verbonden met het internet. Wilt dat dan niet zeggen dat het probleem niet bij het max. aantal toestellen ligt?
Of is dat uur gewoon de tijd die windows er aan geeft?
