Deze posts weerspiegelen op geen enkele manier onze huidige ideeën, waarden of wereldbeelden en zijn op sommige plaatsen gecensureerd wegens ontoelaatbaar. Veel zijn in een andere tijdsgeest gemaakt, al dan niet ironisch - zoals in het ironische subforum Off-Topic - en zouden op dit moment niet meer gepost (mogen) worden. Toch bieden we dit archief nog graag aan als informatiedatabank en naslagwerk. Lees er hier meer over of start een gesprek met anderen.

I went around a few other DOOM sites before I actually got through reading this thread and I can’t believe that other websites actually have that image posted as news. Hell they even have it posted in their news as a “collector’s edition” and a “leaked” photo from wherever. Why make up info like that?? Do people just make this stuff up for the hell of it?
Seriously, wouldn’t the first tip off be that this was just a simple PotD be that IT WASN’T POSTED IN OUR NEWS? Wouldn’t that make you go "hmmm…Let’s see, the site that posted the picture as a PotD and in no way construed it as being a real photo of the doom 3 box, as well as including it in the Fan Art Section, doesn’t have it in their news, so…yea… we should absolutely put it in ours.”
Now, I read through some of these posts and we are being called assholes and such because we are trying to fool people or something. We did no such thing and all the other sites out there that took this image and fed it their own imaginations as they made up info, should take a good look at how they run their sites and the info they are passing on to the people who read it.
Perhaps an apology to the readers of planetDOOM is in order. If you do feel as though you were tricked in any way then I apologize, but I can’t understand how a simple PotD, which was never stated as being real in anyway, made it’s way all over the net to so many various gaming sites in a short time span with additional info that seemed to come from no where.
DOOM 3 is indeed a very highly anticipated title and this goes to show it pretty well. I always thought this site was run pretty straight forward with no bullshit and no ruun arounds and if there was news such as the box and cd’s appearances, then it would be covered in our news and it would told to everyone that it was the real deal.
