Maar tussen droom en werkelijkheid staan wetten in de weg en praktische bezwaren en ook weemoedigheid die niemand kan verklaren en die des avonds komt wanneer men slapen gaat.

Tijdig meeroepen leve deze en weg met die, maar niet al te luid, want zelfs onder het toekijken is het raadzaam de aandacht niet te trekken, anders gaat men denken dat je tot grote dingen in staat bent en ook dat kan gevaarlijk zijn.

Ben het zelf nog es gaan checken in "The Thomas Jefferson Digital Archive" van de universiteit van Virginia.

De brief waarin die quote zou voorkomen bestaat niet.
Heb dan gewoon in de quotes gezocht op 'banking institutions', ben die quote ook niet tegengekomen.


Toegegeven, die gaat al heel lang mee, maar dat maakt hem niet plots correct. ;)

Heb hem trouwens al eens gelezen maar is al een tijd gelede, denk niet dat de meeste mensen het mij kwalijk nemen dat ik een humoristische noot toevoeg aan mij post... :hug:

Ik denk steeds terug aan dat droevige moment dat ze "over the top" gaan. Dan zeiden ze nog iets van :

Heb je me al meegdeeld in de 'Obama Deception' tread.

Maar hoewel er geen bewijzen bestaan dat Jefferson zoiets heeft gezegd, dacht hij er wel zo over. Hij was fel gekant tegen het ontstaan van een centrale bank en ervaarde de macht van de bankeirs effectief als een gevaar.

Btw, de termen deflatie en inflatie werden in die tijd nog niet gebruikt dus bij nader inzien kon het sowieso al niet door hem zijn gezegd.
Nog bedankt om me hierop te wijzen.;)
