"EQ is a very subjective thing, but there are a few guidelines here. When EQing things don't do one of these mistakes:

1) DO NOT use a drastic EQ, since it usually takes away all of the fatness of the sound. Leaving a low volume on the frequencies that you don't want to hear in that barely effects the bigger picture but gives a much fatter sound. A bassline without any mid-range will sure be in place, but will sound very hollow, so that should be done with care.

2) DO NOT leave any frequencies with nothing playing in them unless you're absolutely positive that you want to give an empty feeling to the track. Notice that even the most minimal artists fill in all the frequencies.

3) when a sound is 'too thin' for your liking, think of whether adding a reverb or a light chorus will fix this - most sounds can be given a lot of depth with very light and simple effects (the Virus for instance doesn't create really fat sounds when you take away it's reverb and delay, but with them the sounds are pretty impressive, hence it's popularity). Now - this changes the EQ of the sound - so always add the EQ after as many effects as possible, but before the reverbs and delays - those effects are rather linear, and should have the center of the stage, but if you add a phaser or chorus after the EQ work - you'll just ruin a lot of the accuracy the sound had.

In short - EQ with care, and it's best to start out with a good sound, as opposed to making a sound good.

Extra tip: use send effects on reverb/delays, that way you can use the same reverb and delays for many different effect channels (saves CPU power) - I also like to EQ out the bass on the sends to the delays as to not overclutter the bass sounds (leave space for the bassdrum/bassline)."

sticky niet meteen jongens, anders komt iedereen af da zijn favo bezigheid in ne sticky moet (drummen, gitaar, mixen, you name it)

maar khad toch graag eerst even een soortement oorsprong gezien, waar ge die monsterlijst links vandaan haalt ... kwestie van malheurkes gelijk den addow zijn "GoT-vergetelheid" nie opnieuw tegen te komen

weet ne keer te zeggen waar ge die links vandaan hebt, dan kunnen ze zonder probleem in de algemene sticky; graag zelfs. ma als ge da geript hebt van op een ander forum of site, dan is het beetje boertig om da klakkeloos te gaan stickyfyen, vind ge zelf ook nie?

Wa zeg ik hier juist? Tuurlijk is dat gecopypaste! dit is een combinatie van enkele posts op het psygarden forum. Die waren op hun beurt ook een combinatie van verschilende fora... De niet-samples links komen wel van mezelf

BTW: mij kan het niet schelen dat dit sticky wordt of niet, ik vraag er ook helemaal niet om en zou het ook niet als mijn verdienste of weetikwa zien... Maar het zou wel handig zijn voor sommige mensen dat deze hoop links niet steeds zakt tot hij niet meer gevonden wordt imo.
