Het archief is een bevroren moment uit een vorige versie van dit forum, met andere regels en andere bazen. Deze posts weerspiegelen op geen enkele manier onze huidige ideeën, waarden of wereldbeelden en zijn op sommige plaatsen gecensureerd wegens ontoelaatbaar. Veel zijn in een andere tijdsgeest gemaakt, al dan niet ironisch - zoals in het ironische subforum Off-Topic - en zouden op dit moment niet meer gepost (mogen) worden. Syphon Filter 4 en God of War IV.
Volgens de laatste editie van het op de UK gebaseerde PLAY magazine zal Sony volgende maand 2 nieuwe games onthullen voor de PlayStation 3. Het gaat om grootse titels namelijk Syphon Filter 4 en God of War IV. Deze zouden momenteel al ver in ontwikkeling zijn. Syphon Filter 4 zou in ontwikkeling zijn bij SCE London Studio en staat gepland voor eind dit jaar. God of War IV wordt zoals verwacht ontwikkeld door Sony Santa Monica. Beide games zouden volgens het magazine aankomende maand aangekondigd moeten worden. Sony heeft nog niets onthuld omtrent beide games, al zijn wel al diverse vacatures verschenen die hints gaven omtrent de 2 nieuwe games.

GTA III en Vice City onderweg naar PSN
Het ziet ernaar uit dat Grand Theft Auto III en Grand Theft Auto: Vice City onderweg zijn naar PSN. Beide PlayStation 2-games hebben namelijk een opnieuw een rating gekregen van de ESRB, maar dit keer als PlayStation 3-game. Van Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is dan weer geen spoor. Een datum voor de beide games is nog niet bekend.
Zou wel nice zijn!
Hopelijk met trophy support wel, anders kan ik ze evengoed op PC spelen (of dus niet..).

While Mr. Blurrycam already spotted the upcoming PlayStation 3 video editor at CES, he was unable to divulge any details on release dates. We were similarly unable to wring out much more when we hit the show floor ourselves. Now, Sony has finally outed a few key tidbits, including the fact that Europe can expect it to arrive by the end of Q1 and that you'll have to fork out for the pleasure -- priced at around €10 ($13). According to Electricpig, the PlayMemories Studio will offer up cropping and zooming tools, slow-mo, and a medley of sound and visual effects. Incoming versions of the movie editor for iOS and Android, however, will still arrive gratis. Are you willing to stump up to get your Spielberg on? While there's nothing concrete on a US launch date just yet, we'd expect to see the editor to make a similar appearance over the next few months.

Eens zien of hij het bedrijf kan omdraaien, want Sony is momenteel nog altijd een rommelboel.
Teveel afdelingen, teveel producten. Bovendien geen overkoepelend design, imago of marketing. Zelfs binnen de afdelingen is de marketing vaak anders. En heel belangrijk, in geen enkele tak is men nog marktleider.

TOKYO, Japan – Sony Corporation (“Sony”today announced that Kazuo Hirai has been appointed as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective April 1, 2012. Sir Howard Stringer, currently Chairman, CEO and President, will become Chairman of the Board of Directors in June, 2012.
Mr. Stringer recommended to the Sony Board of Directors that Mr. Hirai, currently Executive Deputy President, be his successor as President and CEO. Mr. Stringer will continue as Chairman of Sony Corporation until his ascension to the Board Chairmanship, which will become effective upon Board approval following the annual meeting of shareholders in June, when the current Chairman, Yotaro Kobayashi, will retire. Mr. Hirai is also expected to be appointed to the Board at the June shareholders meeting.

Hun grootste fail -in mijn ogen- is de miskenning van (het belang van) de Europese markt (ik bedoel dan vooral hun Playstation merk). Sinds PSOne is dit nog steeds het geval, terwijl men ziet dat er heel veel loyale customers in Europa zitten. Kijk naar hun EU PSN store, de regionale releases etc. Ik hoef er geen tekening bij te maken. Ik zwijg nog van het feit dat de Europese consument de zwakkere dollar moet compenseren met hogere prijzen voor eenzelfde product. Ik vrees ook dat Sony -te beginnen met Vita- de MS-toer opgaat met minder vrijheid en meer klemtoon op uitmelkerij.

De titel van dat artikel is wel een beetje kort door de bocht.
Een "PlayStation Network account" is voortaan een "Sony Entertainment Network account".
Logischer, omdat je die account tegenwoordig ook op niet-PlayStation toestellen kunt gebruiken en/of voor video- en muziekdiensten.
Maar binnen het Sony Entertainment Network heb je nog altijd het PlayStation Network.
Een "PlayStation Network account" is voortaan een "Sony Entertainment Network account".
Logischer, omdat je die account tegenwoordig ook op niet-PlayStation toestellen kunt gebruiken en/of voor video- en muziekdiensten.
Maar binnen het Sony Entertainment Network heb je nog altijd het PlayStation Network.
